In Portugal, it is tradition for the eldest daughters to learn the family secrets and recipes. Therefore, an accumulated culinary knowledge passed on through generations of chefs and bakers that transcends into this generation, makes it an evolution in flavor.
Helena Dos Santos, the owner and force behind Lettuce Turnip the Heat, loves to cook. Her mom is also involved in the business and adds her magic to the mix. Combined they fuse their Portugueseness into everything they make. Furthermore, they believe in sourcing all produce locally, because local is lekker and community is key.
Currently, several families order meals on a weekly basis and enjoy her home-cooked meals, especially the kids, and that makes her so happy!

Tuesday’s and Thursday’s are cooking days. You can either collect your meal or arrange for delivery. Delivery is mainly focused around George but special arrangements can be made for Wilderness.

Lettuce Turnip The Heat is passionate about wheat-free baking. Please take note that it is 100% wheat-free, not gluten-free. Helena uses vegetables in most of her cakes, cupcakes, and cooking, providing hidden nutrition and plenty of flavors.
